While civil and church ceremonies have restrictions on their wordings, readings, music, time of day and where you can hold your wedding ceremony, humanist celebrant-led ceremonies can be held pretty much however, whenever and wherever you like!
We can build a ceremony that completely reflects who you are as people, and as a couple and will be filled with joy, laughter and emotion.

You enquire
Let me know you’re interested and drop your details and planned wedding date into my enquiry form, or email me on hello@sarahwhitworthcelebrant.com. If I’m available on your big day we can take things to the next level!
We chat
Let’s get to know each other a bit with a chat, either in person if you’re nearby, but usually via Zoom (other virtual meeting platforms are available!). You can tell me about your wedding plans and who you are, as people and as a pair. I’ll begin to work out what your particular ceremony could feel like, and you can see if I’m a fit.
You book
If you decide I’m the celebrant for you (oh please do), I’ll ask for a deposit to secure the date. I only book one couple a day, so I will be yours, all yours! I’ll send you some inspirations in terms of readings that might be a fit and my guide to writing your vows. People often find the idea of writing their vows overwhelming and it’s absolutely not something you HAVE to do, but I am on hand to help you create something as beautiful, funny or tear-jerking as you want.
We plan
I’ll keep in touch with you in the meantime, but 4-5 months before the big day, I’ll send you a (hopefully fun!) questionnaire to find out more about your wedding vision and about the pair of you. Then we will meet for an in-depth chat to help me absorb what makes you YOU, what you cherish, what funny idiosyncrasies you love about each other. How we go about this is super-flexible so that it fits around you and your lives, but usually it’s an in-person or Zoom get-together.
I write
l create your wedding script from scratch to reflect your relationship and to fit with what you most want to celebrate. I’ll share it with you and we can make whatever refinements you would like to get it wedding ready.
We rehearse
I strongly recommend we rehearse if we can. It may not be possible due to venue restrictions, but if you possibly can, it will give you and those taking part in the ceremony the chance to know exactly what they’re doing and when. It results in a much more polished and relaxed ceremony on the day, and definitely helps settle those nerves.

My pricing
For 2026 and 2027 weddings, my price is £700.
What does this cover?
My fee is a flat rate, whatever the day of week or time of year. It includes:
● All planning meetings, calls and communication. I'll guide you through the process from start to finish, shaping a ceremony that feels completely authentic to you
● Script creation with as many edits as you need
● Guidance on writing your vows
● A collection of readings and vow inspiration
● My attendance at your rehearsal
● Delivery of the ceremony - I’ll arrive at least an hour beforehand and liaise with other suppliers and make sure everything is on track!
● Keepsake presentation copy of your wedding script delivered shortly after your wedding
● My undivided attention on your big day. I will only book one ceremony a day, so we can be flexible with timings and my brain will be on you and only you!
● My travel up to 30 miles from my base in West Sussex
Are there any extra charges?
If I need to travel further than 30 miles, I charge the 2026 Government mileage rate beyond that point, based on a return trip.
Should I need to arrange accommodation due to rehearsal or your location is too far for me to manage in a day, then we’ll agree this ahead of time.
Payment information
I split the payment into three sections.
1) £150 to secure your date
2) ½ the remaining balance due at the planning stage
3) the remainder will be due two weeks before your ceremony
